Betting Lines – Ochocinco Better step up vs Jets AFC Wild Card

Chad Ochocinco may not be the best WR in the league but he certainly is the best talker among the league’s standout receivers. And this year after suffering through a few down seasons and disputes with management he bounced back with a very good statistical season. However, he’s got to play huge for the Bengals on Saturday against not only the best defense in the NFL betting lines but also the best cover man in the league for his team to win this NFL odds matchup.

Ochocinco, who incidentally said he would change his name back to Chad Johnson if he was shut down against the Jets in week 17 (which he was), had a great year in the stat book. He caught 72 passes for 1047 yards and 9 TDs, all tops on the team and probably good enough to get him a Pro Bowl invite.

However, against all-world CB Darelle Revis last week he looked like a bum. Sports betting fans heard him talk the talk before the game but once the online betting action began he didn’t walk the walk. Revis held Ochocinco/Johnson to 0 catches for 0 yards.

For the Bengals that’s an especially bad development as the receiving talent pool for Cincy is prohibitively shallow. After Johnson the second most prolific receiving weapon the team has is Lavernious Coles who had just 43 catches for 514 yards. If the Revis and the Jets can shut down Ochocinco again they can shut down the Bengals passing game and subsequently the offense. And that would put a major dent in Cincy’s playoff hopes.
