Football is a physical and in the NFL have success in the sports betting often depends more on the good fortune of staying healthy than executing plays on the field. So often a talented team falls short in the NFL odds for no other reason than a key player here or there is lost to injury.

The participants in this Sunday’s NFL wildcard betting lines know all too well how the health of a handful of players can determine a team’s success in the post season. And they’re about to find out just how important some of their key players really are should they be unable to play in the NFL wagering action on Sunday.

In the week 17 game against the Packers the Cardinals lost key players on both sides of the ball. WR Anquan Bolden was knocked out of the game with a sprained ankle and his status is unknown for Sunday’s game. Likewise fellow Pro-Bowler CB Dominique Rogers-Cromartie was sidelined with a bruised kneecap. Bolden (84 catches, 102 yards) is a vital ingredient of the passing attack opposite Larry Fitzgerald and Rogers-Cromartie is the team’s best cover man.

Green Bay also suffered a possible game changing injury as well as CB Charles Woodsen (tied for NFL lead in INTs with 9) left the week 17 action with an injury. He’s incredibly important for the Packers in this matchup against a very deep Arizona receiving corps. It’s difficult to say that one or two players can make the difference in a game but without these players on the field these teams are not nearly as effective.
