Don’t Forget About the Falcons

atlanta falconsFor anyone ready to write the Atlanta Falcons off the NFL betting lines, think again. After dropping game in New England several weeks ago and then sitting out the bye week it seemed as if Atlanta dropped off the radar after a quick start. But with a win on the road over a good Niners squad the Dirty Birds served notice that they’re still in the thick of the NFC hunt.

There were plenty of doubters after the team was dismembered by the Pats and even the NFL betting lines were predicting a tight one in San Fran. But that simply didn’t happen with the Falcons dominating every phase of the game and reminding the NFL lines bettors just how complete of squad this team is.

Starting at the QB spot, second-year man was nearly perfect tossing a pair of TDs and 329 yards. RB Michael Turner was back in top form running for a 3 TDs and 97 yards, WR Roddy White had over 200 yards receiving and the offense hung up 45 points on a very good defense.

Atlanta’s defense is also greatly improved from last season and pitched a shutout in the second half of the San Fran game. The pass rush has been a major factor in the team’s NFL betting odds success this season and had three sacks against Shaun Hill.

The Falcons (3-1) seem a lock to win the NFC East and do some damage in the post season. This is one of the few very balanced teams and should not be overlooked as one of the top teams in the NFC.
