NFL Betting – Jaguars at Patriots NFL Odds

Playoff potential adds a certain sense of excitement to any football match up and a heightened sense of the importance of victory. You can’t afford to let any game slip past you in the NFL betting lines schedule and especially not in December. Neither New England nor Jacksonville has locked down a playoff spot yet and it’s a must win game for both.

The Pats are definitely in much better shape in the betting odds with respect to the playoffs than the Jags but at 9-5 with two games left to play they can hardly afford to lose. New England has a two game lead over its division rivals in the AFC North and with a win can clinch the division and a playoff berth. That’s a lot to play for.

The Jags, at 7-7, are playing for their playoff life and one loss will knock them out of the playoff hunt for good.

The Pats have the better betting record and the better stats but have hardly looked like world-beaters of late. There’s the whole Randy Moss issue which is compounded on the offensive side of the ball by a lack of running game (117 ypg on the ground). And then there’s the defense which is among the best in the league in points allowed (17 ppg) but it always seems like its one big play away from falling apart.

The Jags should be able to establish the power running game and set up the play action for QB David Gerrard and this could be a very close game.

The Pats will no doubt be favored throughout sports betting, but look for the Jags to keep it close and cover the spread.
