NFL Betting Lines – Brees or Manning NFL Odds

What a question? It’s like asking which is better: a Victoria’s Secret model or an SI swimsuit model? You can’t go wrong with either, and both are about as good as it gets. And that’s exactly what Super Bowl fans are in going to be treated to, two of the best in the world at what they do, on one field, for 60 minutes to try and determine which is the best team in the NFL betting lines.

But to make cut to the chase, any team would be better off with Peyton Manning in the lineup than Drew Brees. Since moving to New Orleans as a free agent four years ago Brees has become the best QB in the NFL odds not named Manning or Brady and the top QB in the NFC, hands down. So why take Manning?

Both QBs had ridiculously good seasons, two of the best in the online betting this year (Manning: 4,500 yards, 33 TDs, 16 INTs, 99.9 passer rating / Brees: 4,338 yards, 34 TDS, 11 INTs, 109.6 passer rating), and in fact, Brees had better stats than Manning and also set the single season NFL mark for accuracy (70.6%).

But Brees had a lot of help on the field. Marquis Colston, Reggie Bush, Pierre Thomas, Jeremy Shockey, etc. Manning had Reggie Wayne and …Dallas Clark also had a huge season but that has more to do with the fact that he plays with Manning, rather than any great playing ability. Manning had no running game to back him up and opposing defenses knew he was going to throw the ball 80% of the time, and yet he still had success. And that’s why he’s the better QB in this battle.
