NFL Betting Lines – Jets playing at Chargers NFL Odds

It’s not often in the divisional round of the NFL betting lines that you see a team favored by a TD, but in this week’s NFL odds anomaly, three of the four divisional games feature betting spreads of around seven points. One of these games, the Chargers (-7 ½) vs the Ravens may be the only one that’s truly accurate.

On paper the Chargers seem to be the better team by far. One look at the teams’ records, 13-2 vs 9-7, emphatically makes this point. The Chargers are the hottest team in sports betting going into the post season and have won 13 games in a row, some over very good teams.

For San Diego to win the online betting matchup against the Jets this weekend the team simply needs to keep doing what its been doing: playing stingy D, give up few points and unleash the high-flying passing game of Phil Rivers & Co. On defense the Chargers must shut down the best running game in the business (Jets average 172 yards a game on the ground) or at least keep it out of the end zone; field goals won’t do much damage.

On offense Rivers must find a way to try and put points on the board against the stingiest defense in the NFL (14.8 ppg) and somehow crack through the best passing defense in the league as well (153.7 yards in the air). Fortunately the team has a relatively talented pool of receivers and even if CB Derelle Revis takes Vincent Jackson out of the game you can be sure TE Antonio Gates will have a big game, and Malcolm Floyd should get the better of his man as well.
