NFL Betting – Texans at Dolphins preview NFL Odds

The 2009 NFL betting season is all but over the Miami Dolphins. They had their chance at the playoffs and a possible repeat as the AFC East sports betting champs but they blew it with a week 15 loss to the Tennessee Titans. While mathematically the team still has a chance, the team must win against the Houston Texans and hope others lose to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.

At 7-7 the Texans still have a shot at making the first NFL betting lines for the post season, albeit a very long one, in franchise history and will have plenty to play for as well.

Both of these teams have been terribly inconsistent looking like world-beaters one game and then a week later shooting themselves in the foot.

Miami has been riddled with injuries losing both its starting QB and number one RB but QB Chad Henne and RB Ricky Williams have filled in admirably. The Dolphins just might be the most resourceful team in online betting and even if they don’t win seem to put together a pretty compelling game week in and week out.

Houston is all about the passing game. And with stat monster Matt Schaub at QB and Andre Johnson, perhaps the best WR in the game, on the roster why not?

The Dolphins run defense is stout and Houston’s running game non-existent. As such this game will be a battle of Miami’s young secondary (233 pyg) vs. Houston’s passing game (301 pyg) which is second best in the league.

Houston is certainly not a top tier team in the betting lines but unfortunately for Miami it’s terribly difficult match up for its personnel and Houston should get the win at home.
