NFL Betting Lines Eagles vs Redskins Week 10

November 15th, 2010 by

eagles vs redskinsThere were a lot of headlines being made this NFL gambling off season but none made bigger waves than the Philadelphia Eagles trading 6-time Pro Bowl QB and holder of virtually every franchise passing record, Donovan McNabb.

The trade itself was somewhat unexpected but the astonishing thing of it was the fact that McNabb was traded to a division rival, the Washington Redskins, a team that had all the pieces to win except for a franchise QB.

The (5-3) Eagles will reap what the sewed when they take on the (4-4) Redskins in Week 10 on the road.

Kickoff for this Monday match up is set for 8:40 Eastern Time and SBG Global opened with the Eagles as a 3-point favorite with an over/under total at 42.5.

In the first McNabb Bowl in Week 4 of the NFL betting odds action McNabb led his Skins to an ugly win at home over the Eagles.

On Monday night there will be a change of venue and no one knows better than McNabb how tough it can be for opponents to win in Philly.

There’s also a bit more McNabb controversy involved as well. In Week 9 he was benched by Coach Mike Shanahan in favor of QB Rex Grossman of all people to lead the 2-minute offense vs. (1-5) Detroit. They lost that game and Shanahan looked like an idiot.

McNabb will be firmly installed as the QB tonight but he hasn’t exactly been stellar and the offense has suffered with its starting RBs dinged up. McNabb has a 76.0 passer rating and just 7 TDs and 8 INTs though the first 8 games of the season. Those are hardly the stats you want you’re franchise QB putting up and stats that support Eagles coach Andy Reid’s decision to dump McNabb while he still had some market value.

In fairness to McNabb his top 2 rushers are both injured and the running game has struggled mightily (96.4 yards per game). Fortunately the Eagles defense has generous this season giving up 22.6 ppg (22nd in the NFL).

Nonetheless the Eagles have been good against the pass (214.9 yards passing, 13 INTs) and nothing comes easy when you’re playing in Philly.

Skins should continue to slide in the sports betting standings and lose this home NFL betting odds match up.
