NFL Betting Lines Packers vs Bears Week 3 Odds

September 27th, 2010 by

packers vs bearsWith a combine record of 4-0 neither of these two teams has yet to lose an NFL gambling matchup in the 2010 season but late Monday night one of them will go back to the locker room with a blemish on their perfect record. According to the book makers it’s going to be the Bears that drop a game in the NFC North but with both teams playing at such a high level and the Bears playing at home, an upset win by Chicago would not be out of the question.

Kickoff for this Monday matchup is set for 8:40 Eastern Time and sbg global sportsbook opened with the Packers as a 3-point favorite with an over/under total at 46.

Both of these teams have played well so far this year and both teams have gathered tough road wins (Green Bay winning in Philly and the Bears winning in Dallas). The Packers and Bears have been strong on both sides of the ball but the battle of the tape goes to the Pack attack, no question.

Green Bay leads the NFL betting odds competition in scoring at 30.5 per game. On defense the team ranks fourth in the NFL giving up just 13.5 points and 253 yards per game. This team has been especially devastating against the pass giving up fewer yards on the ground to opponents than in the air (116.5 versus 136.5). The main reason for that has been the teams ferocious pass rush led by youngster Clay Matthews Jr (6 sacks in two games).

Chicago will have a monumental task trying to keep the Packers offense in check but should be able to slow down the team as tied for 10th in total defense and is surrendering just 17.0 ppg and 289 yards.

On offense the Bears challenge will be to keep QB Jay Cutler upright against the Packers blitz. Cutler has been the best QB in the league through 2 games (121.2 passer rating) and if he can keep from getting his head knocked off the Bears have a great chance to win this sports betting matchup at home in front of a crazed Bears’ crowd.
