Sportsbook Odds: Broncos vs Titans Week 4 Predictions

October 3rd, 2010 by

broncos vs titansMake no mistake, no matter what you might have heard or read about the Tennessee Titans (2-1) or Denver Broncos (1-2) in the offseason and NFL betting odds preseason, these are two very good teams and legitimate playoff contenders.

Both of these teams have looked very sharp so far in the first three weeks of action in the 2010 season and when they square off in Week 4 fans are going to see some well executed football and witness a good litmus test for the AFC pecking order.

Kickoff for this Sunday matchup is set for 1:05 Eastern Time and sbgglobal opened with the Titans as a 6.5-point favorite with an over/under total at 41.5.

This is a pretty wide spread and may be attractive to many NFL gambling fans.

The Titans have been terrific this season with the defense playing the way we’ve grown accustomed to seeing Jeff Fischer defenses play and ranking 5th in the league in total defense (14.0 ppg and 294.7 total ypg). On offense QB Vince Young hasn’t blown up any stat sheet but he’s done what he does best: keep opponents on their toes with this scrambling ability and soften up the defense for RB Chris Johnson.

The only team the Titans have to this season is ridiculously good Steelers team that held Johnson to just 39 yards rushing.

The Titan’s top rated pass defense will be in for a challenge this week when the high flying offense of Denver comes to town. Led by QB Kyle Orton, this offense rolled up 476 passing yards against a pretty good Indy pass defense yet managed to score just 13 points on a handful of wasted Red Zone opportunities.

The Denver defense has been less impressive giving up 334 yards per game. The key matchup for this unit will be trying to control Johnson. Denver has given up 94.3 yards on the ground per game can afford to stack the box against Young.

Denver is not a good road team, or at least not as good as it is in the Mile High stadium but this coming off a loss to Indy this team cannot afford to drop to 1-3 and should put up a good fight.

Look for the Broncos to at least beat the sports betting point spread.
