Vegas Sportsbook Odds: Seahawks vs Rams Betting

October 3rd, 2010 by

rams vs seahawksNumber one overall pick in last spring’s NFL draft, QB Sam Bradford, aside from getting a huge check is also getting a very quick lesson on the strengths of NFL betting odds defenses. But so far the youngster has held and given the city of St Louis reason for hope in a season when its baseball team, the Cardinals, have stunk.

The Rams (1-2) are pleased with Bradford’s performance so far as they should be. The rookie has thrown for 655 yards (better than about a dozen starting QBs in the NFL) and ha 4 TDs. Like all rookies he’s been plagued by INTs (5) but after tossing three passes to the other team in the season opener he’s had just 2 INTs in his past 2 games.

This week against the Seattle Seahawks (2-1) he’ll have a chance to shine as the Sea chicken’s pass defense has been very porous. Seattle is giving up 315 passing yards per game and was torched last weekend for 476 yards by Denver’s Kyle Orton.

But it’s the Rams D that will have step up big if the team wants to get its second win of the season and it just might happen. St Louis has been surprisingly good on the defensive side of the ball this year giving up just 16.3 ppg and is ranked 9th in the NFL.

Kickoff for this Sunday matchup is set for 1:05 Eastern Time and sbgglobal opened with the Seahawks as a 1-point favorite with an over/under total at 43.

Within a 1-point spread in the NFL gambling line it really wouldn’t be a major upset if the Rams won, but this team has great shot at getting a win in front of the hometown crowd.

Seattle has won 2 games is tied for first in the NFC West but this is a flawed team. QB Matt Hasselbeck, generally the glue of this offense has been awful this year averaging just 207.7 yards passing and has 5 INTs and just 4 INTs through four games (Bradford wins the QB matchup). The running game has also been non-existent racking up just 84.7 ypg with a running back by committee approach.

This offense is likely to get a jumpstart against an underrated Rams D and St Louis should pull off this sports betting upset at home.
