The NFL betting landscape has undergone a seismic shift, at least in the NFC East. For years QB Donovan has been one of the best in the business and been a thorn in the side of NFC East NFL wagering opponents. And in the upcoming NFL betting season that’s not going to change, he’ll just be beating defenses while wearing a maroon jersey instead of green one.

In one of the truly unprecedented moves in football betting history, the Philadelphia Eagles traded away a Pro-Bowl QB (and the best in franchise history). And they didn’t ship him off to the distant West Coast or to the AFC betting competition.

Nope.

They shipped him a few hundred miles south to their hated NFC East betting rivals, the Washington Redskins. Head Coach Andy Reid deserves the benefit of the doubt considering all his NFL betting success but the move, at least on paper, seems preposterous. Although you could argue that moving McNabb is the best move the long term football betting success of the Eagles and that by dealing him to Washington it prevented the Skins from drafting a skilled QB of the future in a draft thought to be deep in QB talent.

Regardless, Washington just got a helluva lot better and should improve immediately in the eyes of NFL odds makers. After years of football betting futility with Jason Campbell as the starting QB in our nation’s capital the Skins NFL betting fans finally have something to cheer about.

Washington has a relatively good O-line and McNabb should be in good hands. And until last season the Skins had a very good running game, one of the best in the NFL betting action with several backs capable of breaking the 1,000 yard barrier. The addition of former Steelers RB Willie Parker should only improve the running game.

The biggest question mark for the Skins entering this NFL betting season will be at the WR position. Santana Moss is the only name recognizable to most NFL betting fans and has proven himself a threat during his decade in the league. But he’ll see double coverage all game long unless the Skins can groom a productive second and third receiving option out of its stable of no-name pass catchers.

And that will be the big question mark hanging over this team as the 2010 NFL betting season approaches.

The Packers are coming off one of the most unlikely losses of the season. With the game at Pittsburgh (one of the hardest places to win) seemingly in hand the Steelers some how drove the length of the field in the closing seconds to score a TD and win by one.

Now the pathetic Seahawks (5-9) will receive the brunt of the Packers frustration when to two square off in the two teams square off in the frozen tundra of Lambeau in week 16 of the sports betting action.

The Packers will be major favorites in this betting line as they should be. At 9-5 this team has been one of the better teams not only in the NFC but the entire league. It’s lost some tough games to good teams and is solid on both sides of the ball.

Aaron Rogers has developed into a top 5 QB in the NFL betting lines and directs an offense that is 7th in the NFL in scoring (27.1 ppg) and 6th in pyg with 284.1. What’s more impressive is his TD/INT ratio of 28/7, the best in the league. He may get sacked a lot but he doesn’t give the ball up.

Unfortunately turnovers are about the only hope the Seahawks have of leveling the playing field in this game. And they won’t likely get any. The Hawks are a rotten team (1-6 on the road) and injuries, bad luck and lack of talent have conspired to relegate this team from relevance in the online betting playoff hunt. Green Bay must win to keep its lock on the NFC wild card slot and it will, perhaps by a very wide margin.

“Chris Henry Dead” is a headline none of us expected to see. He died Thursday morning at 6:36am the day after receiving injuries during a domestic dispute with his fiancée. The Cincinnati Bengals WR was only 26 years old when doctors pronounced him dead. At some point during this domestic dispute with Loleini Tonga, his fiancée, Chris Henry jumped into the bed of their pickup truck as Loleini was driving away. Apparently, Chris fell out of the truck and suffered “life-threatening injuries”

Henry had had a number of run-ins with the law, being arrested five times, the fifth for an assault charge. He was suspended for half a season along with Titans cornerback Adam Jones, suspended for a full season, as part of the NFL’s toughening policy on conduct. After his fifth arrest, Judge Bernie Bouchard referred to him as “a one-man crime wave.” Naturally, the Bengals let him go. Of course, Henry was crushed as his high school dream of an NFL career was crumbling. He received a second chance and became a reformed man.

Henry sported a new tattoo underneath his left ear qwhich says “Blessed.” When asked about it, he said “I kind of felt like I dug myself out of the hole and started doing the right things… People say ‘How you feeling now Chris? You doing all right?’ I just tell them I’m blessed. That’s why I got it.” Carson Palmer, the Bengals quarterback, was able to testify that Henry had turned things around when asked about him.

To hear Chris Henry dead is most definitely a saddening development in the NFL. It’s heartbreaking to hear that a person who had made mistakes in his past should pass away just as he’s starting on the right path.

Henry led the team in the average yards per catch: 19.7. He suffered a thigh injury early in the season which slowed him down. Nevertheless he still made 12 catches for 236 yards. In his NFL career he played 55 games, scored a total of 21 touchdowns, and a total of 1,826 yards. Now with Chris Henry dead, the Bengals will feel a void in their ranks. Palmer will have to work with a different Cincinnati Bengals WR in his ranks. RIP Chris Henry.

If anyone took the NFL betting odds on Kansas City in Sunday’s game they’re sitting on a pile of money right now. When the Chiefs hosted the Pittsburgh Steelers in week 11 there was perhaps no bigger mismatch on the board. And yet that’s what makes the NFL betting lines so interesting.

The Chiefs were 0-12 at home in their previous dozen NFL betting matchups and little to no reason to expect to win this game. The offense has been terrible all year, it just scored its first rushing TD of the year in week 10 and the defense ranks among the worst in the league.

Yet somehow when it was all said and done the Chiefs had strung together their second win in a row and knocked off one of the top teams in the NFL betting lines this year.

The tables have now turned for the Steelers who once looked like a lock for home field advantage throughout the playoffs. The team now has to win five of its next six games to ensure it will even make the NFL wagering this season.

Injuries have taken their toll on this team and with Big Ben, Troy Polamalu and Chris Keamotu all banged up this team is far from full strength.

But in the wild world of the NFL the action is always unpredictable. One week a 2-8 team can knock off a 6-3 team and momentum in one direction or the other can re-write an entire season. For the Chiefs this upset could go a long way in salvaging an otherwise forgettable season and for the Steelers, the loss could be just the tip of the iceberg for a total collapse.

The 2009 NFL lines on the regular season are finally here. First off, the opening game between the defending Super Bowl champions, the Pittsburgh Steelers, as they host the Tennessee Titans in their home stadium of Heinz Field. As the previous Super Bowl champs, they earn the honor of opening up the following season, and open it they shall.

The Steelers enter the 2009 regular season as 6½ point favorites, and they are expected to cover. The preseason wasn’t exactly a stellar performance, but they still did exceptionally well. With a 3-1 preseason record against the Titans’ 3-2 preseason record, the two teams look easily matched. However, the Titans are 0-2 in road games for the preseason. Can we expect an improvement in their performance throughout the NFL lines during the regular season?

After this game, the Steelers are expected to travel to Chicago and face the Bears, who are not expected to have a very good season this year.

The Titans had faced the Buffalo Bills in the 2009 Hall of Fame Game, which they won 21-18. Though the Steelers may be the Super Bowl champs and have that confidence about them that they’re the conquering heroes of the NFL lines, the Titans may bring them down to earth this game.

The game will be broadcast at 8:30 PM Eastern Time.

The league of American football that began in 1920 with 11 teams has undergone changes over the past90 years and has grown to 32 teams in two conferences. What started out as the American Professional Football Association soon became known as the National Football League.

The NFL betting lines flourished for 40 years, and then a competitor came around, known as the American Football League. These two leagues competed between each other for the following 10 years, until they merged in what has become one of the most successful business mergers in history.

These two leagues, NFL and AFL, became what we know today as the National Football Conference and American Football Conference, two equally sized divisions of the current National Football League, each having the 16 teams in the NFL betting lines that they have today.

This year, the original teams from the AFL will be celebrating their 50th anniversary, such as the Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs (originally the Dallas Texans), the New England Patriots (originally the Boston Patriots), New York Jets (originally the New York Titans), Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers (originally Los Angeles Chargers), and the Tennessee Titans (originally the Houston Oilers).

Also celebrating their 50 year anniversary of their inclusion in NFL betting lines will be the Dallas Cowboys, who will be doing their celebrating by opening up in their brand new stadium for the first regular season game, a perfect anniversary gift.

This year appears to be one of reappearances, as Tom Brady will finally be back with the Patriots, and Brett Favre will be back to play for the Vikings. Michael Vick returns to the NFL only with the Eagles instead of with the Falcons.

So look for the 2009-2010 NFL season to be one of second chances. The action kicks off on Thursday, September 10th 2009. Make sure to take full advantage of the NFL betting lines this season.

The first touchdown of the game was until the second quarter with a 3 yards run from the Cowboy, Felix Jones. Nick Folk gave a 10 points lead to Dallas in the second period thanks to a 25 yards field goal.

But the 49ers responded in the second quarter and Joe Nedney scored a 42 yards field goal. By the end of the third quarter, the score board had a tie, after Kory Sheets made a yard touchdown.

Field goals by Nick Folk and Alex Romero, 26 and 24 yards respectively tied the game at 13 points in the fourth quarter again.

However, San Francisco got the win with the second touchdown of the game of Kory Sheets. It wasn’t a good game for Tony Romo, who completed 11 of 17 passes, he threw 125 yards without a touchdown and one interception. The 49ers quarterback Nate Davis was the most prominent hitting 10 of the 15 passes for 132 yards with no interceptions or annotations.

With this result, the 49ers improved their preseason record to a perfect 3-0 while the Cowboys fell to 1-2.

Sanchez threw his first touchdown pass in what would be his first game as starting quarterback. Nevertheless the Jets suffered their second defeat of the pre-season 24-23.

All in all, it wasn’t the player’s best performance. His first pass attempt was intercepted by Haloti Ngata who carried out a great turnover play that ended in a 25 yards run and touchdown for the Ravens.

However, Sanchez showed what he is made of and reacted in the second quarter with a 19 yard pass to Leon Washington that culminated in what would be his first touchdown pass of his NFL career. Sanchez completed 3 of his 8 passes in two quarters of the game with a total of 43 yards.

The game was dominated by Baltimore on the first half as it was to be expected with their outstanding defense line. The Jets however got their game together and shortened the difference on the scoreboard near the end of the game. With 30 seconds of play left, third string quarterback Eric Ainge carried the ball for a gain of one yard into the end zone for a touchdown, leaving the game at 24-23.The Jets tried to go for the two point conversion, but an incomplete pass by Ainge awarded victory to the Ravens.

NFL betting Lines at the SBG Global sportsbook has the Ravens vs. Panthers game -3 and with a Total of 34.

Jets coach Rex Ryan decided that rookie quarterback, Mark Sanchez, will be the starting quarterback next Monday against the fierce Ravens defense. Sanchez will have the chance to be the starter QB for the first time when his team takes on the Baltimore Ravens on what will be the second preseason game for the Jets.

Sánchez will be going head to head against the raging Ravens defense commanded by Ray Lewis. Mark will have to earn his coach’s and teammates trust by demonstrating his best plays. Coach Ryan has not decided yet who will be the starting QB for the regular season.

Sanchez is seeing this as a simple rotation of players, although he does claim to be truly excited with the news.
On the Jets’ first pre-season game against St. Louis, Clemens was the starting QB. Mark went in to launch a pass to David Clowney, his first completion in the NFL and his first gain of 48 yards in an 88 yard drive of 3 passes and 4 downs which resulted in a touchdown.

Sanchez knows that there still a few details to work on to make his game better every day. He is confident that game after game his skills will be on a constant improvement. He believes he has to learn to be faster and let go of the ball faster as well.

On the other hand, Clemens feels comfortable with the news. He knows he has no control over who starts the game. He will concentrate on completing his passes and taking good decisions when he is in the game.

Coach Ryan believes that his decision is one with strong motive. If Sanchez is able to surpass the Ravens defense, then he will be able to do the same with any other. He knows it will be a great match and that it will be of much more merit for Mark to be able to break through the Ravens wall than with their last contenders St. Louis Rams.
