Kickoff 2009: The Wait is Over

The league of American football that began in 1920 with 11 teams has undergone changes over the past90 years and has grown to 32 teams in two conferences. What started out as the American Professional Football Association soon became known as the National Football League.

The NFL betting lines flourished for 40 years, and then a competitor came around, known as the American Football League. These two leagues competed between each other for the following 10 years, until they merged in what has become one of the most successful business mergers in history. Read more…

San Francisco Unbeaten in the Preseason

sp_49ers_0004_dbThe Cowboys lost for the first time in their new home against the San Francisco 49ers that beat them 20-13. The first touchdown of the game was until the second quarter with a 3 yards run from the Cowboy, Felix Jones. Nick Folk gave a 10 points lead to Dallas in the second period thanks to a 25 yards field goal.

But the 49ers responded in the second quarter and Joe Nedney scored a 42 yards field goal. By the end of the third quarter, the score board had a tie, after Kory Sheets made a yard touchdown. Read more…

Tough Debut for Mark Sanchez

Mark SanchezMark Sanchez was the center of attention yesterday as the Jets went head to head against the Baltimore Ravens. Sanchez threw his first touchdown pass in what would be his first game as starting quarterback. Nevertheless the Jets suffered their second defeat of the pre-season 24-23.

All in all, it wasn’t the player’s best performance. His first pass attempt was intercepted by Haloti Ngata who carried out a great turnover play that ended in a 25 yards run and touchdown for the Ravens. Read more…

Buccaneers Vs. Jaguars Preseason Game Night

The Bucs will try to continue their brilliant play this preseason when they host their other Florida NFL rival, the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Weather conditions around the Raymond James Stadium area for tonight’s 7:35 EST kickoff will be partly cloudy skies with scattered thunderstorms at 81 degrees, 90 degrees humidity, and South/Southeast winds at 14 miles per hour at gametime. Read more…

Mark Sanchez Against the Ravens

mark sanchez ravensJets coach Rex Ryan decided that rookie quarterback, Mark Sanchez, will be the starting quarterback next Monday against the fierce Ravens defense. Sanchez will have the chance to be the starter QB for the first time when his team takes on the Baltimore Ravens on what will be the second preseason game for the Jets.

Sánchez will be going head to head against the raging Ravens defense commanded by Ray Lewis. Mark will have to earn his coach’s and teammates trust by demonstrating his best plays. Coach Ryan has not decided yet who will be the starting QB for the regular season. Read more…
