NFL Playoff – Ravens buries the Patriots Sports Betting

It had been more than 30 years since the New England Patriots had lost a home playoff game but in Sunday’s wild card matchup with the Baltimore Ravens the outcome was never in doubt. This game was over almost before it began with the Ravens not only scoring on the first play from scrimmage (an 83-yard TD scamper by RB Ray Rice) but jumping out to a 24-0 lead in the first quarter.

Little changed over the next 45 minutes. The Ravens defense was stifling. The run game was aggressive and Joe Flacco made the throws on third and long when he needed to –which wasn’t that often. Rice proved once and for all one of the biggest stages in sports betting that he is one of the game’s premier runners as he racked up 159 yards on 22 carries. And when Rice wasn’t occupied running the ball down the Pats’ throats Willis MacGahee substituted (20 carries for 62 yards).

Flacco finished the day with very meager numbers (4-10, 34 yards) but Baltimore jumped out such a big lead so early, and the running game was so effective, that there wasn’t much need to put the ball in the air. The defense was also highly effective making Tom Brady look mortal for the first time in his NFL playoff career.

He finished with a very pedestrian 23-42 for 154 yards and 3 INTs. The INTs are what changed this game and you can’t help but think three broken ribs and broken finger had something to do with that. But give credit to Baltimore for a thoroughly dominant win.
