Super Bowl Odds – Super Bowl Sunday

February 3rd, 2010 Steve Bisping No comments

The old NFL adage goes something like this: Offense wins games but Defense wins championships. Well, try telling that to the two offensive jaugaurnauts that will be playing for the Super Bowl odds title on Sunday. These two teams, while hopeful to play strong defense every Sunday, live the offensive mantra.

Score points first and worry about playing defense second. That’s how both the Indy Colts and New Orleans Saints operate and on Super Bowl Sunday we should see quite a lot of points hung on the board, the only question is, how many? The early over/under in these Super Bowl odds seems to be somewhere around 56 points. Read more…

Pro Bowl Stats – AFC Beats the Odds Sports Betting

February 1st, 2010 Steve Bisping No comments

The NFL Pro Bowl had its share of haters this year. It was the first time the game had ever been played the week before the Super Bowl, and not after, and it was the first time in the nuclear age that the game was played somewhere other than Hawaii.

But despite all the negative press, this year’s edition of the Pro Bowl was perhaps the most compelling in decades as the AFC narrowly beat out the NFC 41-34 in the final minutes. The Pro Bowl may not be the star showcase this year that it has been in recent years but there is still plenty of talent on the rosters. Say what you want about the depleted rosters in this year’s Pro Bowl but it’s still the biggest collection of talent that NFL odds fans will see on one field this year. Sports betting fans still have plenty of reasons to tune in and many of the games top players will still be in uniform.

This year the teams are as evenly matched as ever and the NFL odds should be tricky as in previous years. While many people have made the AFC the underdog in the betting NFL action due to their perceived weakness at the QB spot, there are still plenty of players to watch on this roster. Read more…

NFL Playoffs – Sports Betting

Well, at least Rex Ryan wasn’t crying after his team was eliminated from the NFL playoffs on Sunday. That was about the only thing that went right for Jets fans after the second quarter in the AFC championship game in Indianapolis. After the team jumped out to arguably its best start of the season, it all unraveled in the final 30 minutes of regulation.

The New York Jets put together a very nice Cinderella run in the sports betting post season but the team was clearly out of its league against the 15-2 Indy Colts. But it wasn’t a complete blowout. The first two quarters were dominated by the Jets; surprising for a team that has made it’s living this playoff season by hanging with teams until the fourth quarter and finally wearing down opponents with its running game and grabbing the final game winning score late in the game.
