Sports Betting – AFC Wild Card Playoffs

The San Diego Chargers are assured of being the number two seed in the AFC playoffs and will receive a bye in the opening round of the post season next week which makes them something of a question mark with the betting odds in their regular season finale against the Washington Redskins.

The Chargers will enter this matchup as a big favorite with the betting odds and a record of 12-3 straight up and 8-7 with the football betting lines so far this year. The Chargers beat the betting odds last week at Tennessee with a 42-17 win as 3-point road dogs with the football betting lines.

San Diego struggled early in the season with the betting odds as they failed to cover 4 out of their first 5 games and fell far behind the Denver Broncos in the AFC West Division race. Since that time, however, the Chargers became one of the hottest teams on the board with the betting odds and they have now gotten the cash in 6 out of their last 8 games.

San Diego has not been that great of a value with the betting odds at home this year, however, as they are just 3-4 with the betting odds as a host. They have also gone over the betting odds total in 5 out of those 7 home games this year.

The Chargers will likely rest most of their starters as they have absolutely nothing to play for in this game. Many backups should be motivated, however, as they will get rare playing time.
