Sports Betting – Cardinals at Saints NFL Odds

Coming off a record 51 point performance against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC wild card NFL odds matchup the Arizona Cardinals have plenty of reason to be optimistic heading into their divisional round matchup with the New Orleans Saints. Add to that the fact that the offense is playing as well as its played all season and Kurt Warner’s near flawless play and it would be hard to bet against the this team.

Yet heading into this weekend the Cards are touchdown underdog (+7) in the sports betting line. What gives? Well, many factors are involved but probably the biggest strike against the Red Birds is the fact that this game will be played in the Super Dome, a arena that will be stuffed to the rafters with malt liquor and maniacs screaming ‘who dat?’. Not an easy place to win by any stretch of the imagination, especially when the fans are amped to playoff magnitude.

But the Cards should have little to fear after the clinic they put on against the second best defense in the NFL (Green bay). The Saints have many talents but the team’s defense was mediocre at best and that bodes well for a team that just hung up 531 yards and 51 points against one of the best defenses in the NFL.

New Orleans ranks in the bottom half of the league in defense (21.3 ppg). But more foreboding is the fact the Saints are especially terrible against the pass giving up 233.7 yards in the air per game. That is a perfect recipe for another monster Kurt Warner game and could very easily doom the Saints to relegation.
